Microsoft Kinect: we will oppose the courts that demand user-generated data

Microsoft announces that it will oppose with all its might to comply with the request of the courts to receive data generated by users and collected by their sensors, Kinect in testa.

In this article Microsoft ensures that the Kinect will have a LED that will signal the operating phase of the camera and microphones, making it known to the user , when the sensor is in full function.

But this does not reassure the real danger: the indiscriminate collection of data within the home.

Placing a sensor that is capable of recording video and audio is quite a challenge, if the total lack of output of such data from the unit responsible for decoding the inputs and outputs is not absolutely guaranteed.

In other words: Microsoft is announcing that it will not allow courts to enter their servers to know the data…instead she is confirming only herself, will not collect such data!

In short, the problem is always the same: there are private subjects who, through services or products, can spy on everything that passes through their platforms and their sensors…and this is not good!

The only solution is to guarantee the potential user total security and data retention inside the house, without any sharing either “spill” of the same to third-party servers.

To do this you need an independent hardware platform and an operating system that is totally controllable and partializable with firewalls that guarantee confidentiality to the 100%.

This objective is primary for ComputArte products and for which speech and gesture recognition functions will be offered without the use of third-party servers and guaranteeing the decoding of the data flow exclusively locally.: when technology respects your privacy!
