When technology threatens freedom ( Google glass e privacy )

By reading this interesting article ( http://www.key4biz.it/News/2013/06/18/Privacy/privacy_gpen_google_glass_antonello_soro_218461.html) by Alessandra Talarico, is “strange” note that the various Privacy Guarantors ( not least the Italian one ) are interested in problems relating to the collection and use of personal data by large companies, only lately….almost in conjunction with the certain news that OTTs do not pay taxes in Europe ( or they only pay for it 1 millionth )!!!

Realize that pork has been made, and still our rights in terms of confidentiality of personal data are trampled continuously and systematically by ALL operators offering ICT services, it is an act that sounds like a mockery!!!

All the national and above all European authorities what they did 10 years ago when the internet was becoming pervasive and there was already knowledge of data collection by operators?

PRISM is just the tip of the iceberg.

And it makes even more smile the fact that the big American OTTs want to be transparent towards users by revealing what requests they have received from the US government in terms of spying on user data.…all this shows that there is a fully operational structure on the continuous espionage of everything we do on the net and that even the American government asks Google and Apple , Amazon and Facebook and so on, the data they want to spy on.

We are faced with irrefutable proof that the technology we have at our disposal spies on what we do… a 360°!!!

All apps for smartphones and tablets , the moment they are installed, require access to the data that are in the device such as the address book, the pages visited on the internet, The messages , the photos, music and all documents….according to you why!?

Since you touch the screen on the option “accept” , you are sharing the use and therefore ownership of all your information with….CHI?!

But with all those who are in the control room and profile who you are, what you like and what you don't like, with whom you have a sexual relationship, with whom you have quarreled, what do you buy and where do you go when you go out in the morning …thanks to the GPS integrated in the wonderful smartphone that sends the position logs every 30 seconds, in the face of your choice to inhibit the data in “background” of downloaded applications!

E’ a breeze then cross stolen data from your portable tools, with your Facebook page!

In light of this, anyone in control of this data, is able to sell advertising to those who are looking for exactly what they are offered…. the next question is: but then who does not have access to this data, how does he compete fairly against these “wizards”?

Whereas democracy, and therefore freedom, they are values arising from a differentiated society and market that rewards pluralism, who has a competitive advantage not reachable by others, it is able to excel and therefore outperform the competition by creating conditions of oligopoly or worse, monopoly?

Let's leave the answer to our good guys, diligenti, honest, competent , transparent and responsible national and European administrators!
