Two weights, two measures on online defamation (Pres. Laura Boldrini)

Two weights, two measures on online defamation (Pres. Laura Boldrini)

I read this article and I get sick!

When the politicians are touched , then reporters give ample spa

uncle and fuss about the fact that the defamation and the offenses produced on the internet platforms must be blocked and nailed to the responsibility of the authors….while if defamations and offenses are normal citizens or companies, then you have to “to protect” the right of free expression and not just one eye closes, but eyes, ears and nose on maximum cloaca situations ( TRIPADVISOR ex EXPEDIA!)

Everyone who travels and is used to consulting the net knows TripAdvisor, site that is proposed ( with the halo!!!) to report judgments, unbiased opinions and reviews written by real travelers….never greater lie was said in the tourism sector!

Nobody to date is able to distinguish false positive reviews ( written by the same hoteliers or friends of the same or by public relations companies that offer their services to write well ) e false negative ( written by unfair competitors and unscrupulous people who defame in complete anonymity ).

TripAdvisor is a platform that allows anyone to write anything without a NECESSARY fact being ascertained: that the author of the review is a true traveler, and who has really stayed at the property.

But having said that, which undermines the same reliability of the published news, it's interesting to understand why there is this platform.

Soon said: Until recently, TripAdvisor was the direct property of EXPEDIA ( with a conflict of interest that only politicians and their friends' institutions did not want to see!!!!). It is now officially independent after being listed on the American stock exchange …without anyone ever denying that it is controlled and connected to Expedia ( ex art. 2359 cc ).

But there is more: in addition to being an unreliable platform, it is also ABUSIVE!

The European law of 2008, regarding the transparency of operations of private legal entities ( companies ), obliges anyone who owns a geolocated network domain in one of the member states of the European Community to declare a local registered office.

This means having to declare a permanent establishment and therefore a VAT number…that is, to pay taxes!

TripAdvisor is totally invisible from a legal and fiscal point of view: does not take the right responsibility for the defamations it publishes, protecting the anonymity of the authors, and does not pay taxes for the income generated on the territory.

…and talking about tourism, in Italy , we can all imagine how big the TOTAL evasion of this subject is, in defiance of the institutions designed to control, to the Guardia di Finanza and to citizens and companies in the same sector who pay taxes instead!

Going back on the news in which President Bodrini announces to activate the team of lawyers to protect his rights and the rights of the employees of the Chamber, because tourism operators and citizens are not guaranteed the same towards an incorrect operator such as TripAdvisor which produces unfair competition and misleading advertising ?
