Tablet market: an inevitable turnaround.

Tablets slow down and PCs grow- ComputArte copyright

After the snatches of the many gurus afflicted by chronic myopia or improvised in the wake of lavish fees to produce plasticized and piloted information, we find the same analysts of the ICT market having to ascertain an inevitable reality: the approach to saturation of the tablet market and the recovery of the classic PC market.

The factors involved are many but mainly attributable to:

– longer lifecycle for tablets

– operating systems that are not “programmed” to age prematurely

– slow, but inexorable awareness of the limits and real potential of the various tools (tablets and smartphones for short and social interactions, pc for complex content and for production )

– The growing need for privacy and data security

The scenario is anything but predictable and predictable.

It is expected that the 2015 consolidate growth limited to 8% ( Source bitmat article http://www.bitmat.it/blog/news/39760/tablet-linizio-della-crisi ).

By “limited” we mean if compared to the two-year period 2012 e 2013 where the peak of over the 250% of growth on an annual basis !!!

For its part, the classic pc, grew by 2% ( fonte Business Magazine http://www.businessmagazine.it/news/buon-quarto-trimestre-per-le-consegne-pc-in-emea_55723.html ) .

But analyzed the numbers and purchasing propensities, the phenomenon of "desktop replacement" is becoming increasingly evident ( fonte bit mat http://www.bitmat.it/blog/news/40519/ogni-quanto-gli-utenti-cambiano-i-loro-device )

L IOT ( internet of things ) it is a rapidly growing vector that will suffer significantly, the effect of the progressive need to protect the indiscriminate collection of data and the consequent profiling.

Faced with the new and incredible opportunities offered by technology, the danger of being immersed in a world where the same becomes a tool to spy on everything and everyone on an ongoing basis is manifested abnormally.

Countries like Russia and China are demonstrating how the observation of this aberrant scenario is moving men and resources to limit the excessive power of the OTTs and start building alternative operating systems ( Tizen ) and independent network infrastructures.

A desirable and possible solution to be able to bring Europe back to the world top of technological and innovative capacity, is to rethink ( deeply !!!) the use of resources for the amplification of the architectures proposed by non-European OTTs and enhancing those entrepreneurial realities that are committed to producing and engineering technology that can respect and protect privacy and at the same time give a real and tangible added value for the final users.
