The internet will also polarize TV
… Although Apple seems to be giving up on offering its TV ( source article on the Corriere delle Comunicazioni ), for lack of content and for strategic reasons ( the need to plan sales in large quantities to support a "standard" as created for other tools such as ipod, ipad, iphone for the purpose of making a profit from the sale of music content, replace the never truly winning apple set top box and invade other living rooms, many, senza set top box, and drastically increase the commercial obsolescence of TV, that as opposed to cell phones and pads which are scheduled to be changed every two years, usually, is replaced between i 7 he 8 years ).
But the internet is inherently pervasive and unstoppable, and attempt to harness it in closed platforms, it's like wanting to tame an "altered" bull, without bridles and holds.

But the real challenge will be to hybridize the contents 1.0 of the TV, with platforms 2.0 on the internet, on the single user screen : TV .
To do this ( technically possible for some time, but lacking an appropriate interface ), you need a PC… which is integrated into the TV, as in the models currently available, limits the experience due to the very nature of the computational platform, closed and on a bounded logic.
The only real tool that can give birth to a new universe of services and apps for group interactions, is a "familiar" computer, capable of adequate power and an open platform to receive all the software that is, and they will be, designed for the use of internet content on TV… let the revolution begin!!!
